Benefits Assistance Workshop for Veterans, Military Members, and Families

COSA is hosting monthly workshop for veterans, military members, and families in many counties. Attendees will be able to:

  • Enroll in VA services
  • Identify priority groups and differentiate between veteran and humanitarian
  • Apply for benefits under the PACT or Cleland Dole (WWII) Acts
  • Participate in one-on-one Q&A

Veterans and military members are encouraged to bring DD214 forms, Certificates of Release, and an ID.

Workshops are funded by the Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG Fox SPGP), an initiative of the Veterans Administration (VA). The initiative enables the VA to provide resources toward community-based suicide prevention efforts to meet the needs of Veterans and their families through outreach, suicide prevention services, and connection to VA and community resources. COSA’s veteran services are available in the following counites:

Autauga, Bullock, Chambers, Choctaw, *Dallas, *Elmore, Greene, Hale, Lee, *Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, *Montgomery, *Perry, Pike, Russell, Sumter, Tallapoosa and *Wilcox counties
