POW/MIA Candlelight Ceremony

USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park will host a POW/MIA Candlelight Ceremony on Friday evening, September 19, in honor of National POW/MIA Recognition Day. The ceremony will be held at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the park’s grounds at 7:00 p.m. and will be conducted by the South Alabama Veterans Council. The evening will include the lowering of the American and POW/MIA flag by the Boy Scouts Troop 87, assisted by the P. L. Wilson Detachment MCL. The POW/MIA Table Ceremony will be presented by the Boy Scouts Troop 87, followed by the lighting of individual candles. Guest speaker is Frank Ready, USA Vietnam Veteran. The Ceremony will conclude with a special song by Country Music Artist Zachary Thomas Diedrich.

The POW/MIA Candlelight Ceremony is free of charge, and the public is invited to attend.
