PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW VETERANS HOME, ENTERPRISE, COFFEE COUNTY, ALABAMA
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs (ADVA) announce the availability of a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed construction and operation of a 174-private bed State Veteran Home on approximately 25 acres of undeveloped land located on the east side of Highway 51 (Rocky Head Road) at the southeast corner of the intersection of Dozier Road and Highway 51, Enterprise, Coffee County, Alabama. The Draft EA has been prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the President’s Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) regulations implementing the procedural provisions of NEPA (40 Code of Federal Regulations [CFR] 1500-1508, and VA’s NEPA implementing regulations (38 CFR Part 26). VA and ADVA intend to issue a Finding of No Significant Impact following a 30-day public comment period in accordance with the CEQ regulations, provided there are no substantive comments that warrant further evaluation.
